Driftwood Fieldtrip Reminders!
- Don’t forget to check the weather for St. Simons Island
- If you need to bring medicine for the field trip, be sure it is in the container with your name on it in a Ziploc bag with your name on it. Be sure to give it to your Target teacher when you arrive at school on the 5th.
- Be at school by 5:15 a.m. Find the lists on the bus to find out your chaperone, group, and if you are on Bus 1 or Bus 2. The buses will leave at 5:30.
- Bring your breakfast in a paper/plastic bag.
- Snack machines are available… coins only!
- No electronics!

I am still finding that there are 4th and 5th grade students without the book, Who Comes with Cannons? If this has not been ordered, you need to do so ASAP - it can take one to two weeks to arrive since the book is out of print. You cannot download it on Kindle. I have found copies two months ago for as little as $1.99 a copy + shipping. Here is a recent search result:

This book is a bit more expensive on these two sites - $11.00ish (including shipping). Students without the book will have to be problem solvers in borrowing books this week before their book arrives!
Final payments are due for Driftwood this week on Wed., Feb. 15th!
Hands-On-Equations Tutoring now available in Mrs. Ernstes' room on Wednesday mornings from 7:20 to 7:50! Please take advantage of this opportunity if you struggle with the "check" or any other skill we have done in class and you feel you need more of a review.
We now have all commitment forms in from new 5th grade students and the final cost of the trip is $219. A balance note will be sent home with students next week which will reflect deposit paid and poinsettia credits if applicable. The final payment will be due by Feb. 15th. A packing list and itinerary will also be in the packet. We cannot wait to share the Driftwood experience and Cumberland Island with our students!
